Priorities for South Jordan
-
Keeping South Jordan among Utah’s safest communities starts with strong staffing and rapid response. Don backed raises to retain and recruit officers, approved new hires every budget cycle, and delivered Station 64 in Daybreak—cutting west‑side response times for both police and fire.
Don prioritizes the safety of all our residents and has worked to establish safe walking routes for children attending Daybreak Elementary and has helped establish safe walking routes for children attending AAI.

Growth should be determined by the City. Don has worked extensively to keep decision-making at the local level, ensuring South Jordan gets the final say in their development and growth.
Don is working to balance developments and housing for the rising generation that fits the character of South Jordan and accommodates long-time residents. One example is his work on the relocation of the senior center to a more appropriate location that will accommodate both the seniors and the residents living in the area.

Parks and open space define our quality of life, and Don fights to preserve them. He led the fight to save the Glenmoor Golf course, secured funding for Highland Park, created the Bingham Creek Park Authority, helped save Mulligan’s golf courses, and opened an all‑abilities playground at Riverfront.
He has worked with the council to deliver on residents number one priority pertaining to the outdoors, walking and hiking trails. -
Conservation is critical in a desert city. Don voted for the Water Conservation Master Plan, installed smart meters city‑wide, created the water re-use test facility to clean water to a level where it can be reused, and expanded water‑wise landscape rebates.

There is no sugar coating it, traffic is a problem right now. With construction projects on major roadways we are experiencing traffic issues.
To solve this issue and mitigate traffic, Don worked closely with UDOT to create the 10400 S / Bangerter interchange and is pushing to accelerate the completion of projects on 9800 S and 11800 S.
Don has also worked to add a new Trax line stop at the ball park and worked with UTA to add new bus routes throughout the city.
Don is focused on solutions to our traffic problems. He is currently working to turn the Mountain View corridor into a freeway to further decrease traffic in and around the city.
